I put this here to actually solicit an *answer* in this thread. The 770 does not support QuickTime. Is there such a beast for Linux, and the Debian flavor, at all? Does anyone know if the above could be ported to Maemo?
And this now makes me wonder about something else too: can Windows Media Video play under Linux? Is there such a player? And could it be ported to Maemo?
According to Nokia, the 770 video support includes MPEG1, MPEG4, Real Video, H.263, AVI, 3GP. I think we'll still need/want WMV and QT.

I see what you're saying though. At present, the 770 doesn't have the geek factor associated with PDAs, given that it's being sold at the consumer market rather than the business market.
