@Mikec: I still don't see Qt::WA_Maemo5DesktopApplet attribute in the docs, so we still don't have it in (the Qt4.6 linked) Python libs either.

A bit of an update from IRC (sorry about the formatting):

Code:
<achipa>	anyone know the fate of Qt::WA_Maemo5DesktopApplet ?
<achipa>	dwilms mentioned it previously on tmo, but I don't see any other references in docs or similar...
<villemv>	wasn't that some old unnecessary stuff? now that they have proper support for dekstop widgets
<harryF>	villemv: heh, I'm missing the backlog - what was the question?
<villemv>	about WA_Maemo5DesktopApplet being deprecated
<achipa>	villemv: ooh ! You mean through QMaemo5HomescreenAdaptor sort of stuff ?
<villemv>	yes
<harryF>	achipa: yes, the homescreen adaptor does everything for you, there's no need to set the window flag
* achipa	wonders why qmaemo5homescreenadaptor is not part of the QMaemo5 module
...
<harryF>	achipa: oh nice :) Just wanted to know whether there's any trouble with Qt 4.6 + PyQt?
<achipa>	harryF: it's A-OK. I even added the extra QMaemo5 classes and they work like a charm
<harryF>	achipa: great, good to hear, thanks :)
<achipa>	harryF: BTW that's why I was curious as to what to do with the homescreenadaptor
<harryF>	achipa: I'll upload it to extras soon, so it's an installable dependency

Does it mean we will have a binding available for the adapter, or will I have to make my own?

Did not decide on that yet. It is trivial to include it in PyQt, so you could get it as a binding 'for free' (the python-qt4-maemo5 package would pull it in as a dependency), but OTOH it's uncharted territory so there is a chance it won't be PySide compatible... We have the time to think about it until harryF pushes it to Extras

http://maemo.org/packages/source/vie...00421-0maemo1/

Code:
qt4-homescreen-loader 4.6.2~git20100421-0maemo1	Fremantle Extras-devel free armel	Package promoted	Harald Fernengel	2010-04-21 12:42 UTC
Did you talk to harryF or is this just a coincidence ? Anyway, it seems there is now enough material for a good night's worth of Python hacking !
