thx.
so i will install it without this functionalities because i don't need two additional buttons in the statusbar dropdown menu.

shift + crtl + p for screenshot does its job (and i don't use this often...).

btw: maemo5-load-applet doesn't even show up in the statusbar... -.-'

I really hope the video cast for load-applet works soon. It can be very handy for all the people who make apps on maemo. They make a new app than video cast how the app works and how to use it and can talk during the video too. This will really help noobs to use more advanced apps thus making them true power users on this site and with testing apps that they don't have a clue what it is or does. But so far loving load-applet!

It seems to me that the screen/video capture feature should be a separate app, so I like the idea of cpumem-applet doing one thing well.

I used spb screenshot alot with my winmo phone to show the screen and error stuff wrong with an app and posted it on the forum so the maker can see what I was talking about when I had a problem with an app. So for me the screenshot in the statusbar is a GOD send lol

True for some which why it's a strip down version of the app but the screenshot and video cast in the statusbar works well for me. So big thanks for two versions I say

This is one of the best sides in free, open source applications - you are not relying on some apps maintainer alone, you can always fork and modify stuff to your needs. Not everyone agree, they can stick with original, some like the fork better etc. There is no winners (or rather, there is no losers) in this - everyone can get what they want

To those of you who claim that the load applet "slows down the device" - do you mind proving your statements?

Do either of these show what applications are taking up what amount of memory? I installed cpumem and it shows the bars in the status bar (where the clock and signal strength are) but there is no cpumem in my applications menu.

My N900 has been running very slowly the last few days. I haven't installed anything in 1-2 weeks so it's strange that it's now that the slowness is showing. It did show a small lag after I installed Catorise but the last few days it's been really slow. I want to find out what apps use what amount of memory so I can uninstall some apps.
