the cloth which comes packed with the n900 seems to be a good choice to for cleaning in first instance. i wonder if i can use it with eyeglasses cleaner and may wash it?! ^^
I learned about paper scratching the hard way from my optician. I used to clean my plastic lenses every day with the recommended spray but often used paper hand towels.

They eventually became scratched and I went back to the Optician and asked why they scratched so easily and was told about the paper. The old style glass lenses would never scratch that easily and it may be exacerbated by the plastic coating. Anyhow I clean my current plastic specs with microfibre or cotton and they are 18months old with zero scratches.

The N900 is probably not as sensitive as coated plastic but why take the chance when a simple measure can make so much difference.

My old 18 month old N95 is ugly scratched and still worked great the week before I bought the N900 and I know in my heart that my N900 will be superceded by a new one N9mill thing in18 months and that a scratched screen probably will not be that important; but I may as well keep good care of it while it is such a new toy!

Microfiber + water will clean the panel nicely, dont overdo it, you dont wana flood your awesome device, but just give it a nice clean, and repeat if needed, i have a screen protector on too so i dont cause any marks from pressure/dry microfiber,

yup - hurr on it then rub on my sleeve. I find when the touchscreen becomes less responsive it needs a good wipe.

breath + microfiber cloth, or in cases of extreme dirt I use eyeglasses lens cleaner

When using cleaning solution on electronics, the best thing to do is put the liquid on the CLOTH, not onto the surface of the device. That way you don't risk liquid getting inside the electronic components. (same advice if you are cleaning your LCD TV screen, don't spray on it, spray on the cloth and wipe...)

Dilute vinegar sprayed on warm microfiber cloth (from auto parts store). Cloth soaked in hot water & wrung to moist. Cloth can be pointed to clean edges.

But, use a screen protector.

Oils from fingers and food will come off faster and easier by mixing in a little isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol with the water. A 50%-50% water isopropyl alcohol mixture is commonly used in eyeglass cleaning solutions.
