Another idea about water wheels: they could be flywheels as well, so after fluid passes over them they spin a while, generating power for the operation. You would encounter them periodically through the gamescape. Power gets too low, and things start acting up (or down). Lower still, and nothing works. Game over?

Ah, okay. Could a Moderator please move this to Brainstorm?

Edit: But nobody is talking about a game like this? Google

I see globules of mercury moving quickly to bridge gaps between conductive metal pads! I see rivulets of gloriously cheerful paint blending and mixing to form helpful colour combinations!

Ooh! And I see sponges! Annoying sponges that slow things down, but yet helpful sponges that store things up until you can find a way to compress them...

Oh... no. I'm afraid! Then the Starfish Patrick is not far away...

But water without animals?

Some fishes, lobster... a angler on the riverside. Oh, and there... A shark! Could you see it? It's eating Spongebob Squarepants!
Jeah... I would love this Game!

I have no idea what this is supposed to be based on or how it will look but it sounds good anyway

Now a Pipemania clone would also be brilliant

Can't have any fun without arousing the critics.
