there's a "non-free" section in the maemo.org repositories, if you have implemented a payment infrastructure yourself, you could upload it there.

in the meantime, you might want to read these two threads about selling commercial applications through ovi store:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34661
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34783

some of the facts discussed there might be subject to change, as the new Ovi paid app system for Maemo still isn't ready and implemented yet.

SubCore: How can I upload to maemo.org non-free, I have a garage account and my project have been approved... just adding a new release file would do it or I am missing the point?

TIA,

Cheers,

Nop, you can upload to non-free, but we don't have any paid application there yet, I'll start a discussion about it in order to see the community feelings about that.

IMO with the price added to the package description, I can't see any problem.

More information here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Uploading_to_extras

This is funny and sad. Right now there is demand for place(repository) where you can easily hit that paypal/whatever method button and download software and register it with your imei code. This kind of page could be made in couple of days :| As sio2interactive has already done.

In a way this is really nice and shows how free this system is because everyone has opportunity to put marketplace up, but Nokia should have already done this.

Use 'dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot' inside scratchbox, files will be created one level below the current dir.

yep. it's insane that nokia can't get this fixed. even if they're planning to release a whole new ovi version soon, they should've made a temp fix. I can't understand how this would be such a puzzle for them to solve and implement. or maybe they already have but forgot to mention. Nokia style
