The N900 has a hands-free function which works very good. You don't necessarily need a headset then, but e.g. in public transport, you probably don't want the other party to blare out of the speakers of your phone.

but you still have to hold the phone in your hand infront of your face right. isnt that awkward.

But what about plugging the tv out into the nokia, placing it below the tv and being able to have a video call with your family if they're thousands of miles away in your lounge? The mic may not be great though... Still would be awesome.

Can you even think of another way to do videocalls with a mobile? I'm pretty sure there isn't one.

you can do it over sip as well if you specify h263 only for both ends on an asterisk box.

Hit the camera button during a GTalk call. Has to be supported by the other end as well though.

That's good news! I didn't know that was possible, I wonder if that means I can do a SIP call to another N900 and get video calling too? If anyone has tried this then I'd love to know.

not sure, i don't have 2 n900s to test with Send me a pm with your sip address and some way to know if you are online and we can try it if you want
