I have been trying to watch a .mkv file in mplayer using sib and kmplayer to load the file. The sound works great, however the video renders slowly. Is there a way to configure mplayer to render the video more quickly?

Thanks for the reply. That speeds it up a little bit, but not enough. Anything else?

and again:

mkv is only the container... what's more important is the content:
1. video-codec, resolution, fps, bitrate
2. audio-codec, sample-rate, bitrate

what are those values in your case?

how about trying to play file from shell with mplayer to see error log?
also you can probably make some files play better with
Code:
lavdopts=skiploopfilter=nonref
in mplayer config or setting it from command line
