Hi all,

I have some problems with deleting contents of .Trash, in my device it is named ".Trash-1000". i connected it to my laptop which was running ubuntu 10.04 and deleted all music files using my laptop, after that everything went to .Trash-1000. Now I can't delete contents of .Trash-1000, it says "cannot remove 'path/to/files': Read-only file system", this is when i try to remove files from terminal from inside of n900. If i use my computer to do the same, i get similar message.(read-only file system)
Anyone has some idea how can i get read of the files? it's about 8GB, and i don't want to waste so much space.

The file-system is probably corrupt, if it gets mounted read only. You could try fixing it with fsck on a Linux box, Disk Utility on Mac OS X, or something similar on Windows.

I unmounted ~/MyDocs and then did file system check on it, rebooted n900 and after that I was able to delete ~/MyDocs/.Trash* folder.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info!

I was being driven slowly mad. I had deleted all my music files and although they appeared to have gone from both the music folder and from the stock media player, Instinctiv was still showing them and allowing them to be played. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on, I even thought that maybe Instinctiv was copying the files over to a hidden library.

All gone and recovered about 8gigs of space!
