Full internet browsing with Maemo browser powered by Mozilla

• GPS and FREE navigation with Ovi Maps replace your Sat-Nav
• 5MP camera + video

That gps bullet suggests (in terms of replacing sat nav) that this is fully ovi maps enabled. The current version doesn't really cut it

So is this
* over-optimistic marketing
* A hint of ovi maps improving soon

I hope for the 2nd but suspect the first
Can you cut and paste the email into a post in this thread and wrap quote tags around it please?

Ok, I tried to post here but failed so I've popped the email onto my WHS box - a bit of a strange one, I've recently replaced a linux server, so no apache etc (yet)...

Anyhow the email's linked from here -> http://cherrybyte.homeserver.com/testsite/

Thanks, I didn't realize it was a graphics, sorry. It does look like Nokia marketing is pushing the boundaries of "truth in advertising".

I will attempt to attach a cut from this email of the wording you rightfully questioned so that others can refer to it. Particularly those that have had to deal with the response of others on these boards that they didn't research the product before buying.
I also hope someone points the member "Peter" from Nokia Marketing here the next time he posts and ask him why.

Why approve copy like this knowing the affects disinformation, rumors, and bad press have had on this previously productive forum?

If we are supposed to be Nokia's N900 customer care and support, at least give us a standard response script or something. Maybe instead of karma members should be earning stock options instead.

I got this in the email today and clicked on it and it does not have a N900 as an option.

You can't get 48 GB of memory unless you add a 16 GB microSD card. Out of the box, it's only 32 GB, with 27 GB available to the user. I hope this ad is not out to the masses, or else someone (no -- make it someone AND his/her management chain) will have hell to pay.

ari also stated on his blog that maemo wont get what symbian gets in terms of ovi maps

there may be minor improvements, but its not going to be the full set

If this is the UK, then it needs reporting to the Advertising Standards Authority by someone with the actual email, as it is at the very best factually incorrect, and misleading

False advertising, as the product is currently sold. ASA might want to have a look.
