What do you mean "3rd party AP"? Do you want to use another mobile operator to connect using GPRS? It is not possible, to use GSM throw one operator and GPRS throw another one.

P.S.: sorry for my English.

Hi Quasar, my question is about using a 3rd party AP for GPRS connection, for example you are a Vodafone customer, but you want to connect to O2 GPRS AP because it is faster, is this possible?

Many thanks

normally you can only connect to the APN which is provided by your phone company. Maybe if some resellers are also using the same network, you could use there APNs. but I guess that is not possible because of how they should bill you for that?

@Patola
anything special about what you did to get traceroute listed in apt-get? i tried last nicht and today but all i get is an error that it is not listed :-(

thanks assetburned and Quasar, sounds like you can only connect to the AP provided by mobile service provider.

For the traceroute package:

1.) Make sure you have the Fremantle SDK catalogue installed into App. Manager. If its not, install it using the following:
address: http://repository.maemo,org
distribution: fremantle/sdk
components: free non-free
2.) from x-terminal, type "apt-get install traceroute"
