I had a Zagg screen protector on for one day. Ripped it off after it became discoloured. Scrolling was also harder with it on because it was too "grippy". In its birthday suit now and much better for it.

I went without a case and a screen shield for a while...but then got paranoid about scratches. Bought some hard rubberized cases that although looked great, became lack laster after a few weeks. I want my device to look professional, not like a kid's toy. Went back to without a case, but with an invisible shield for about a weeks or so and got paranoid about scratches again. Finally bought this:

This was the best purchase I have ever made for a device. Not only is it top notch, it's made to fit the device perfectly and makes it look great. Unfortunately, they sent me the wrong invisible shield with it, but I love the case

My N900 is naked... I have dropped it a few times, and there are a couple of places where a bit of metal shows through and a dent in one place... that isn't to say its built badly though, both these times were on very hard surfaces, and the times I have dropped it on carpets or wooden floors it has come away without a scratch.
My suggestion is just don't take an N900 hiking if it is naked.

I use a screen protector and the leather case from nokia... They seem enough. And i am very obsesive about protecting my phones (my friends make fun of me telling me that i should buy a bulletproof case for it haha...)!!!

Naked. You choose your device for the design and looks as well as tech specs, and then carry it in a bag? WTF?!
Of course I take care of my N900 - do not put it in a pocket with keys or coins and when on basketball playground I carry it in a small neoprene case.

I am using the zagg IS and I am very very satisfied with it.
It lost it's rubbery stickiness about after 4 days, I got almost no bubbles.
And I can handle the change with the touchscreen.

Knowing that my phone CANNOT scratch, and I tested it myself, I am happy and safe and it does not add bulk.

Another Zagg IS user here - well, kind of.

I put on an Invisible Shield on Day 1, and a couple of days later, I had to exchange the phone (defective headphone jack).

I ordered a replacement from Zagg, but it still hasn't got here after about 2 weeks, and so all this time, I've been rocking it naked.

The screen is holding up pretty well - there's just one hairline scratch, needs the right light to be seen - but as soon as the IS gets here, I'm putting it on.

It does make the screen less slippery at first, but you don't actually need to press any harder with it on, and the protection is phenomenal. It even molds into and hides existing scratches!

Zagg are offering 10% off discount codes at the moment... so i may purchase an Invisible Shield for the N900 think i'll just get the screen part though... the full body seems a bit dramatic on the N900 looks like it comes in far to many parts....

I go commando myself. I've had a PhantomSkinz screen protector on it since they released em but use no case. I'm careful about how I carry it and whatnot. I must say though, these things are built well. I dropped it from pocket level to concrete and there is only 1 little ding on the screen housing. No other scratches. Figure I can replace body parts if I ever need to. Did the same with my N95.

I wouldn't want to add any bulk to it with a case.
