I scraped the worst out with the end of a nail file, and it appears to be connecting. I'll save licking it for a day when I'm so desperate for chocolate that even licking the usb port appeals!

Maybe it will work better.

Years ago a buddy of mine had a Windows 98 machine that blue-screened all the freakin time. He always left it lying on its side with the case open because he was always working on it.

One day he was eating ice cream in the chair and spilled a whole glob of ice cream inside the machine. He immediately hit the power button and shut it off, cleaned it up real good and turned it back on.

It never blue-screened again and ran like a champ.

We always joked that all it really wanted was some ice cream
