If the screen doesn't light up when you are flashing it. (pressing "u" and connecting usb should boot it up to white Nokia screen with usb icon in top corner") then you should take it to Nokia care. Flashing will not help on that .

.edit
And backup. I don't know how to backup device when you can't boot it up. Sorry.

If you don't have this kind of expertise with the device, perhaps you shoud return it to a repair point or the shop you bought it in, and ask them to repair it in warranty.

I do have expirience with computers I'm a systemadministrator but I didn't do flashing that much only PSP when it was bricked. But if there is no other option to bring my Nokia N900 back to life I will have to go to the Nokia Servicepoint. Because the problem is very weird after the charging the device powered off.. and thats just weird.

Next week I'm planning to bring the device to the store.

I will keep you all up to date.

If you had a ssh server installed onto your phone you could try to ssh into it and see if that works. If it works, then you could install a VNC -server into it through ssh and then remotely connect to your N900. That way you could create backup inside the phone before taking it to Nokia Care.

Sounds like a dead screen to me.

Love the title:
Nokia N900 is death
True or untrue?

This is very unnormal because i wasn't rude with the device or anything. I'm going to the Nokia Care today.

Wish me luck.

Today I picked up my NokiaN900 @ my local Service Point. He was ready for pickup Monthday thoo but didn't have time to pick it up now is Friday. They said my flex cable and slide were defect.. and they have replaced it. But still I really don't know the real problem what made the cause. It's all good I didn't have to pay it was under guarantee so FREE as long as my phone works. My music en phonenumbers are still on the phone memory.

I got only one more problem when my phone boot's I see the configuration and details I didn't had before. As you can see I flashed the phone myself.. Could be this be the reason? What can I do to make this disappear again.

thx

Thank you for updating us on the cause stated by the Nokia Service Center. Without your diligence in following through here on the forum we would never know what was wrong with your device. Hope it is the last service trip you have to make.
