I use media streamer 1.212 in conjunction with Fuppes UPnP server via wifi with a nslu2 as the central storage device, works anywhere you have wifi without the tiresome selecting and copying to card oand if you just select all your albums and add to playlist and select random 'on' you will be listening to your own radio for a very long time. fuppes takes about 10 minutes per 1000 songs to build a database so even if you have 10000 songs heh not that long.

For THAT (using my n800 as an mp3 player), I DEFINITELY need an equalizer!
I dont get it, cause EVERY mobile phone has something like an mp3 player feature, even with an equalizer. I suppose even my refrigerator would have an equalizer, if it could play mp3's...
@Nokia: whhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!!?

The right case, and a headset with a volume control (or simply one of the add-ons you can get for the job) should work, shouldn't it?

I I use the Canola player, and it works pretty well. The music player on my E70 is
probably not much better and I like the album arts. The N800 is definitely a Swiss Army
knife, I use it for browsing more than my laptop now. wishIng for a good MS document viewer though.

Why am I the only one who thinks an equalizer is important?
What's wrong with the world???

You're not the only one. Several people have expressed a desire for an equalizer. I'd like one, and I think the volume should also be boosted.

There's a law (possibly only in France) that restricts the volume of personal audio devices and I know that all European iPods (French or not) had their volume artificially restricted.

You could hack these European iPods to restore the louder US volume level, and I wonder if something similar is possible on the N800/770, assuming Nokia have implemented an even more extreme version of the original Apple policy ie. Nokia have penalised the whole planet because of the French?

Sorry, can't hear you, please shout louder !

(these regulations are very recent, they sure weren't around when I was destroying my ears with my Sony Walkman :-)

I bought my iPod (3rd gen?) about 3 years ago at which point I became aware it had been volume restricted by Apple, so this obscure regulation is not that recent. Thank God the iPod could be hacked leaving me free to abuse my own hearing! Nanny states... who needs 'em.
