If you have a custom kernel anyway (overclock, or whatever other reason) then there is no reason not to try out mobilehotspot.
I just don't want the unwary to get bitten since the application manager will flash the custom kernel automagically if you didn't have it already and custom kernels are definitely not supported by Nokia (and if it's OC kernel they will probably void your warranty as well...)
