Especially for free.
If there was a working OVI Store with plausible revenue model, I am sure that you will find tons of Twitter widgets and other useless trash, masses are willing to pay $1 for.

It is currently the most up-to-the-second news medium out there, IMO.
If there is something I want to keep up with I now go to Conversations and click Send IM To using twitter account #<whatever> which basically searchs all of twitter for that tag.

install the twitter plugin for conversations
configure twitter account, like add account in status area
open conversations app
tap menu at top, tap Send IM to put in #<whatever you want>
Click Continue
It will pull in the 25(I think most recent) and if you leave that conversation open it will continue to poll. If you close it you will still see it listed in your conversations so you can click on it to go there again
