This idea would rock. I would love to see the Dalvik VM running on top of Maemo, that would be enough for me. Michael Frey did it on Ubuntu last year and then just sort of stopped and walked away from the project, without ever posting any documentation or code. Sigh.

I am a total newbie when it comes to linux development but since "Dalvik is the virtual machine on Android mobile devices." couldn't android apps be run in a VM similar to Wine?!?!???

(I'm sorry about the moderation mess I made: I was trying to merge the 'Android on N900' threads and I accidentally merged this one too. So then I separated it back out, but... what a mess... Sorry again, not a great moderator, I guess... )

ye[p its cool ui but maemo is nice just not so good to use single handed (typing on a landscape device with one hand is hard to do)

Thanks for popping in qole!

Also thanks for fixing the title and giving this thread a life of it's own..

I really think this idea is excellent... It could be the best thing since the N900 itself!

Unfortunately this thread has fizzled.. That sucks.

Is there any feasible way of getting it to work, or is it just the pipe dream of another mad man?
Seems like a great idea, and could have so many uses, I've just not seen much about it anywhere, except qole's post of the ubuntu project that is already dead.
