I think the reason Vodaphone has pulled the phone from their shops is due to the other ongoing Vodaphone thread at the moment about data charges for going over 500mb. The N900 being a Internet tablet will use alot more data than most other phones on the market.

Being wholly ignorant of other options out there would be fully ignorant.

500MB? Wow. T-Mobile caps at 5GB, but only then you're throttled until the next month, not charged overage. Then, how much does Vodafone charge for a data plan? That might explain the difference. Assuming you aren't on a promo plan or taking advantage of phone-first web tmobile charges as low as 20 a month.

So is this the start of the death of the N900 why would Vodafone stop selling the phone in store if it wasn't coming to the end of it's life are they just selling off their remaining stocks on line?

http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/topic/59...-discontinued/

I can't see the data usage being a reason as they are still selling it on line and also selling other smartphones using similar data.

It's all a bit odd with no sign of the meego repacement any time soon and hopefully PR1.2 not too far away?

5GB? It's only 1GB AFAICT: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobil...d/pay-monthly/

Oh, wait, you're across the pond... Over here you can get the "unlimited"-but-actually-limited-to-1GB on top of 100min and 100 texts on a 30 day rolling SIM-only deal for as low as a tenner a month.

Yeah, as per terms and conditions its 5GB then throttled in the US.

Anyways, back on topic: maybe its a temporary removal until the new firmware has been released and confirmed tried-and-true?

Why would Vodafone still be selling the handset in stores? It's been out for 6 months and there's a lot of newer, better and more powerful phones out there. It's called obsolescence.

Why have they stopped selling the N900?
Why have they stopped selling the 3210 is the real question!

Sure, but there's a difference between that and what goes on here, gerbick. You know that.
