If you were running development at nokia, would you release a buggy update for the world?

However, if you had committed to a launch date for the device in a country where PR1.1 doesn't support their local language, you would be willing to do a limited pre release of the PR1.2 software to these users, better than miss a launch date.

We however have our devices, lets wait patiently, if we give them enough time, and it is us shouting via the press that pressurises them into releasing buggy software, they could well deliver a really excellent stable and fast release this time

Public unstable branch with nightly builds would've fixed most of QQ on the forums.

Give them respect too, they've created the most exciting mobile device I've ever seen - and I have played with a lot of them....

Given time to do their job, the N900 could still be an iPhone(and ipad) competitor in the bigger marketplace, I would so love to see it become the standard personal computing device.

I'm not someone who will naturally favour any vendor, but everything the n95 had in features got upstaged by the gui, screen size and touchscreen of the iphone, now we're using something that has the flexibility and power to put the iphone to shame in every respect other than app availability.

Thats a very good suggestion, but it would have to be kept securely away from noobs who may find random issues distressing.

Nokia, don't fancy extending your firmware testing into the community do you?

Would save you money and enable us people to iron out every ghost left in the system.

Anyone got a direct link into Nokia to suggest this?

One more time:
IF "Here Is Why The PR 1.2 Firmware For The Nokia N900 Is Late" is the answer to our long-waiting release...
WHY Honk Kong has it?
HOW can Nokia release so buggy software for Chinese?

IF NOT, again, why we doesn't have pr1.2?

Probably Chinese developers are better then guys who work in Finland ? seriously I think there are problems with crappy and lazy developers. I recall couple of days ago someone opened a thread that his backup application wasnt working when language was set to Finnish sooo....

They already did when they released the PR1.0 N900 last year and then with PR 1.1 and then with PR1.1.1.

It's late because blah blah blah. that's what i see. they don't explain anything that is going behind the scene. only saying that they are testing ( it's obvious). but how it's possible - not to know date, i mean at least month or year or what ever. why didn't he explained why it's so important to release everything on this release - because other wouldn't come?
