Sorry but I don't use firefox, and I just googled it, and it is a LOT of work, not as straight forward as this, but i suggest you to try this TwentyTen-v1-4, THE BEST theme for firefox IMHO.

Can you make 1280x1204 version of the wallpaper?

That's pretty cool. I've started using it on my desktop. Now if only you could do the reverse and design a theme for the Chromium browser on the N900 that'll make it more usable on the small screen :P

Try Chrome touch on your N900. It is not that simple, I am just changing colors and graphics, for the UI that is on Chrome. You need some programing skills to change the UI, which I don't have. But there is already A LOT of browsers for N900. Like tear, opera, firefox... all of them are pretty good. I personally use the default one, MicroB, because of handy zoom, and PC like looks of pages. Also Tear is based on webkit, same as chrome.

Just save the .crx file to PC and open it with 7zip or winrar. You will find there images folder, just change the the image you want to and put it back (.zip archive).
