well i got both a N900 and a bb 9000 and i have to say

both rocks, the bb for the true push to mail and the policy handling and controlling and tracking with a BES

and the N900 for its xterm, vpn, streaming, fb, twit and so on

so i would not compare the 2 phones as they are for 2 different markets

bb email really has no equal. I had instances when i owned a blackberry where my phone alerted me to an incoming email before my desktop email did. but n900 is really a totally different machine and theres really no comparrison.

Lol I agree with you. Find it amazing that Nokia marketed this as an always online device and then when we get the device we have to stay offline in order for the device to last more than 6 hours.

If you have friends that have blackberry then no device can ever come near because of BB IM. All my friends are on BB and my wife and all her friends are on BB. I am always so envious that she can chat with all her friends all day long.

Seems like such a missed opportunity for me from Nokia. Guess what phone all my friends, my wife and my wives friends all had before they got blackberry? A Nokia at one point or the other. But they all moved to BB because of the IM. Why couldn't Nokia have implemented a free IM service in all their device? Now people are leaving them to go to blackberry.

Yes if you want to use it for whole day. Now make your decision: Sell it or adapt to it and try to find solutions. Thatīs it.

.edit
I would advise not to use facebook widget and for IMs only msn (pecan).

Yes they are and they are free. You can enable those repositories and start testing and voting if you like. You have paid to Nokia for official apps and HW if you are not satisfied to those then please post to Nokia about it. This Maemo.org is just free/open source place where people like to hang out and test how to make apps to N900.

Yes itīs a bit of joke. Same thing with cheapish laptops from 3-4 years ago. You could take them with you but you always needed powercord after 2-3 hours.

But idling in msn with pecan makes my battery last for at least ~24h (this depens of course on which online connection you are using 2g/3g/wlan). I think we have here topics where people have sent their pictures of battery-eye.

For example this post is quite nice:

But then again you can see from that post that poster says msn pecan is power sucker.
