@All

1) Backup
2) Reflash
3) Restore

So many people have had problems with 1.2 update failing to install properly - including me, re-flashing is easy and seems to be the best way to get the update working properly.......

@cixi

Not enough space in rootfs - not /mydocs - same suggestion for you as the rest

Every post here, no one was mentioned the third way to upgrade to 1.2: FLASH YOUR PHONE!

Here is the link with the instructions: http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware

Guys, we people talk about not having enough memory to install OTA, we are talking about ROOT memory. Not the place you store your music and pictures. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, do a search for rootfs. It's said you need at like ~55mb of rootfs free to install OTA. Uninstall applications that you downloaded from extras and extra-devs.

yeah that problem is still not fixed. Its a shame

You need to free up the space in rootfs. But you cant realy know wich apps are in there. if u type df-h into terminal you will find the free space in rootfs.
At least try disabling all of your repos exept for the nokia update one.

even tho im not a member there, i just never found a proper guide on this forum that didnt have too many comments confusing the procedure

So, basically you mean that the NSU shouldn't work?
We're doomed to use OTA crappy incremental upgrade or the command line flasher tool? Come on!
Besides, OTA doesn't work regardless of freeing up nearly all space . I have over 72 MB rootfs now and still no go. I've never had any of those huge games that you mention.

I have so many!! I can't believe that!
If so who will know what apps or game is interfering with the Maemo update??!

I have sygic navigator that does not install since one time i tried to install it and it never started.
Maybe it is this.
Any idea on how to delete sygic installations and files?
Thank You

mine is just as modded to death as it was before, backup is your friend
i use winscp to back up the usr/share folder so i can reapply all my mods and icons and stuff, and the backup program will reinstall all your programs and settings for you, and i copy the whole N900 folder to pc too, does take about 3 hours transferring it all back but most of that time is spent transferring music and video through the data cable
but it does give you a very nice clean update
