Your second point there directly and completely undermines your first one. What you are attempting to underline is just how BAD Nokia is at capitalism.

No, it doesn't mean that. At least not in the foreseeable future.

I don't agree.

I'm not saying you are wong in any sense, but I feel you should back-up your comments with an argument at least as the OP did (I know that may mostly be opinion but they have done more than just say "nokia is crap").

I personally love this phone. Coming from the blackberry storm which I got when it was just released I see so much more happening on the N900 in the few months I've owned it than I did in the whole 18 months of the storm. I did not get the N900 because of advertising, but because of research.

Any marketing for phones do mot sell them to me, its what the end users think. Apart from the odd hardware issue, the community here makes this phone so worth while. Whilst Nokia may not inform us what is happening all the time (or give us key information such as expected release dates for FW) the open source-ness (new word there for ya) of this phone makes it great.

If nokia do abandon abandon us to concentrate on meego and new devices, we will still have this more than dedicated community that will keep the N900 alive for as long as the hardware can survive.

HOWEVER, at least back up your negative comments with some facts or (at the very least) opinion. Negative critatism is no use to anyone!
