In our experience, the most common way to solve this is to reinstall the geoloaction add-on.

Would you mind telling me about more about your location and system info? Couse it should only happenes when FourSquare isn't yet availible in your country (FourSquare in now open to worldwide for a while). sorry that cotchin isn't working on your device, we will try our best to figure out what happened here.
