Basically it is adequate if you:
-don't listen to mp3's
-don't need navigation on vacation or when visiting friends/other cities/etc
-don't want any third party developed games or applications
-never want to use the device in Portrait Mode
-can accept non-optified and crashing Office applications
-are OK with paying the full price for a half-finished product
OK, I see. That is great, I can now see that this is the best mobile device ever

yes, its not good, but you can create playlists on your pc (itunes for e.g) and easily transfer that, concering editing: mussorgsky- so yes, its not elegant, but one can solve that..
thats true and one of the flaws, but the app manager does have good community apps
none? really? thats not true and really good ones are starting to come..
to be honest, this was one of the things i was worried about before buying the phone, but interestingly enough i catch myself using landscape even when using the browser. the only thing really missing is the virtual keyboard in portrait for those who enjoy portrait mode

the only other "choice" would be putting the device away.

I use my N900 as my MAIN media player, about at least 3 hours of music/podcasts per day, over A2DP. Works as good as any dedicated device I've used.
Sygic Maps works just fine for me. If you have a problem paying for it, no our issue. Find a way around it.
The repositores are full of third party applications and games. They might not be up to the eye candy as others, but that's not what this handset was ever about.
Docs to Go has never crashed on me and I don't edit documents on 3.5" screen.
If you're miffed that you bought the device and don't understand how to use it to it's best potential for you, that's your own fault. We really don't need you in the community, so feel free to leave.
Oh how would I love slashdot ranking system on TMO to weed-out trolls.
Even simple "ignore this user" feature would be welcome. I'm sure there is such extension to vB available.

I am quite sure qgil (I think) is around here quoted as saying there will be a PR1.3....
I'll have to look around for it again.
Again.. while you may hate it.. fine.. hate it. It works perfectly fine for those that don't need what you obviously need.
If I've helped you or you use any of my packages feel free to help me out.
