Normally, signal can gets weak while charging not because physical connections between usb port and transmitter - it was weak cause standard transmitter drop strength to 80 when usb plug is present - Nokians wanted to avoid situation, when FM transmitter power may exceed regulatory domain.

Then, using jacekowski modified transmitter binary, we can use unlocked full range of frequencies +120 power without need for fmtx boost package, and power is NOT reduced when connected. This way, actual signal is stronger with USB cable, cause it act like resonating antenna (it's not directly connected to transmitter, but due close distance, it still boost signal up).

Still, if You're sure that Your transmitter worked fine in exact same circumstances before, and now You must put it 2 cm close to radio, there is something screwed @ hardware level, I think. Maybe really repair guys screwed something, and You should request fixing it back. Especially if You still have guaranty.

I have same problem. I flashed my phone and installed 1.3 but it is still a same. It was working few weeks ago but now it only indicates that transmitter is on and there is no audio on speakers, but I can't receive anything on my radio.

I also tried commands from this thread but I got no errors and no success. Transmitter indicator turned on and speakers stopped playing and that is it.

when I go on apt-get update, then apt-get upgrade I got message that libsdl-mixer1.2 is kept back.

I have done a few software updates in the mean time but nothing should have caused the fm-transmitter to fail

I removed and re-installed the fmtx-faker but no success

I play a song in media player and I enable transmitter. The audio from n900 stops but I cannot tune to the transmitting station.I can only hear the "screeech" in that frquency..Tried multiple devices

Note: My usb charging port broke and my n900 was sent to service center 3 times to get it fixed..(it failed twice when fixed). I had strictly advised them not to update the device software-so no update was done to software

Question: Can anything get messed up while they re soldered the usb port or is this a pure software issue?

if nothing works I am planning to reflash but I just want to try options and suggestions before I can flash

Edit: I also tried the below three commands and I dont get any errors

/usr/bin/fmtx_client -p 1
/bin/echo 118 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level
/opt/lfocus/v4l2-ctl -d /dev/radio0 -f 88.1

Waiting for help

Thanks
