This will give you actual value of power_level for the FM Transmitter

Login as root.
Then write:
echo XXX > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063/power_level

XXX most be a number higher than the number returned before. The recomended value is 118. In my case I echo 120. GOD bless you ALL!
Is this basically the same as using fmboost?

And how do you go about using fmbosot once installed? Do you first turn on the fm trasmitter when palying a song then click the fm boost icon in the n900 main menu?

Yes, that's how you do it. Or you can install FmTx widget which has the option to automatically call FmBoost after turning the transmitter on.

What I find weird that the sound is really quiet.
What I mean with quiet...the diffrence when for example u have volume 20 ... between a frequnce from n900 and a normal radio frequence with a actuall radio.

Sorry, I haven't been online quite often this days. Yes, is the same, but I think that installing the fmboost only give you the option to boost it to 118 by default
