when you restore your backup, uncheck settings and apps list. then search and install your apps one by one, your phone should have no memory at all of fmms being there so install fmms again and put your settings back but do exactly what i did in my last post and see if it works. it worked for me.
These setting work for me on voda uk

This worked! Finally!! All that effort was at least worth it.
Thanks natedog, appreciated.
For the record, here's what i did to get it working:
• I phoned up vodafone to check they had MMS enabled, got them to disable & re-enable it again, and also to checked their barred services screen to make sure it wasn't - not sure how much of a difference disabling it makes, but seen it on another thread so i ruled that out.
• Backed up
• Formatted phone & eMMC
• Restored bookmarks and applications (and then let it install the apps automatically) and i manually restored just my contacts - see HERE to do this.
• Entered the settings at the bottom of this post into fmms (i am on contract)
• Put resize on medium, and mode on havoc
All that and then they work, sending & receiving without any problems now - touch wood!
Just had to go through the phone and set all my settings again etc.
