Yah it's rubbish. It also reduces the range and I think does the reverse of saving power, because now you might have more interference and timeouts. Current setting for 4days of standby (always connected to Wifi) is 100mw and Powersaving setting to Intermediate

That's what it says, but for me Intermediate is working far better, the net works super fast, ping time have been around 40-100ms on G network in this setting compared to 400-2000ms on the other. With the maximum settings, there were times, when N900 shows its connected but nothing works, not with the Intermediate setting.

There have been reports of others getting better battery life also with the Intermediate setting. I would suggest you try it for yourself.

Reflashing made the biggest change, as cpu won't get any load when idling.

edit. I was really losing my mind with this battery life issue when I got the phone, it was the biggest flaw in the device. How many user are there who still have to charge their phones all the time
Are you switching your phone to offline or using Autodisconnect? Is the phone always connected to Wifi/checking mail? Let me know, what you are running & settings, maybe there is still space to "optimize"

Yes, I use autodisconnect and the phone is on the 2G network almost all the time. I dont use much wifi as I have dataplan (is 3 eur/month (unlimited 384 kbps) cheap or what?), and emails are not checked. More specs:

- Wifi search interval set to "never"
- GPS disabled
- Few widgets on the desktop (weather&stepcounter)
- Bluetooth disabled

Is there anything to improve?

Where did you change that wifi transmit power?

Mine battery life is very worse than your guys.

My phone operatore work only in 3G mode, so i can't use the 2G tricks.

So, my battery last only 5 hours, even in stand-by, with this configuration:
1) 3G enable with 3 IM account running (Skype, GTalk, Twitter)
2) Two Widget: Foreca (2 hrs interval) and Facebook
3) Gmail IMAP check (1 hrs interval)

No Wifi at all in the meanwhile, i disabled the check interval.
No GPS.
PR 1.2 firmware

Is this normal???

3g data surely eats battery like crazy, but 5 hours does not sound normal though. Check what I recommended earlier on this thread.

I am running 3G half the day and Wifi the other half. Looks for gmail while on wifi every half hour. Don't use Foreca or Facebook widget but have a bunch of QBW and Calender-home. I have overclocked and runing max 805mhz during day and 250mhz during night.

I normally get 30-48h usage. Could probably extend that if i didn't use the phone so much.

So yes.. 5 hours is to little. Try charge it to max.. then remove and insert the battery again. Then charge again. DON'T do it to much as it could hurt your battery.

I've just found a possible reason: telepathy-haze take 99% of the cpu ... Any ideas?
