Hi,
I have taken on board all of the suggestions which have been very helpful, thank-you very much to everyone who takes the time to offer support.
The problem however would not go away and every 2-3 hours the handset widgetswould freeze; so yesterday, after a busy day at work, I got home and thought, enough is enough! I re-flashed the handset once again, this time, another clean install without any back-ups restored, I then made a decision to use only the standard repositories (well, only bluemaemo and alarmed from extras - testing) and would you know, Bobs your Mothers Brother, here we are, 26 hours since last reboot and 0 crashes!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Fantastico!! The moral of this story is, be careful what you download from the extra repos! To be honest, I only really use a few apps from the other repos so it doesn't matter a great deal to me, and now I have a fully functional handset which is very quick thanks to PR1.3 and the enhanced linux kernel power 42.
I have contemplated a couple of times to install preenv again but may just wait a little longer.

Also, don't double post, you just confused the hell out of me, I thought I had replied to the wrong topic when I saw this.
