all you need is an IR hotspot, basicly a point or small area (blob) that is brighter than the surroundings

The wii remote has a built-in camera that is sensitive to infra-red light. All you need is a battery-powered infra-red led to act as a pointer.
There has been a few interesting experiments with the wii remote:

Multi-touch whiteboard
Finger tracking
with nokias film no styluses are needed.

The nice thing about it its all contained in a single package and if you need to hold an impromptu presentation it could be very handy.
