This is actually a very important data point, so far missed I believe, in the ongoing saga about what can cause the networking problems that some see (and others never see).

Hence why a new bug should be opened and let Kalle have at it.

When logging on to a wireless access point if there is a local link isp address I ultimately wind up with a network error message and can not gain access. When I could use T-Mobile and another pay site I was successful. I 'm unclear as to why this happens.Right now I'm in Croatia and would appreciate any help. thanks

Yep - My DLink DIR-655 blinds my N800 when it is using 'N' mode. All the neighborhood networks disappear. When the Dlink is set to 'G' only, the N800 works Ok.

Probably buggy 11n firmware (as seems to be the case with the Apple 11n router) though if other devices work fine with your D-Link, one could argue the N800 is doing something unusual. Might be worth posting some details in the 11n Bugzilla bug as it might provide some clues to Nokia that allows their firmware to "fail safe" or work more reliably with flakey firmware.

Once the N standard is certified and everybody updates their firmwares, I don't see Nokia doing a whole lot. This is one of the reasons I don't recommend 802.11n routers to clients.

I felt a relief (sort of) to find this thread, thought I was going crazy. Yes my N800 became instantly network-blind after activating the d-link dir-655 (1.04 firmaware!). I'm afraid I'll have to send the new router back, unless Nokia does something about it soon.

seems the new OS2008 has fixed this bug on the N800..mine works with the D-LINK DIR655 now in n-mode.
