you should be able to download the packages using the web interface - http://maemo.org/packages/

Once you've the deb file, you can install it by opening it in the file manager

i went to the maemo repos to get the unzip app , it gave me a page that list all the info of the app but where do i click to install ?

I need help on how to install from the web based repos . step by step please , i am a noob !
