We are better becuase we remove choice, variety and thinking from our products - our customers should love us for building blandness, they should pay a premium for our monopoly

One thing I found very strange though was "When people think of open...they think of windows" erm, does he know what open source actually means?

He's becoming a twisted caricature of the Big Brother he smashed back in 1984, insisting that Freedom is Slavery and you are somehow better off having the entire experience controlled for you.

Open platform != Open source.
Windows is one, android is (mostly) the other, neither of them are both. iOS, though, is neither.

No need, if Nokia get MeeGo right they'll annoy Jobs in other ways! Early days i know, but judging from the support behind the N8 with advertising it does look like Nokia are at last serious about regaining their lost marketshare

As normal Papa Jobs always grabs the media opportunity and puts a spin on bad situation in his favor.

It looks like this follows some recent news about android selling/activating more phones then apple.

I find death wishes a tad distasteful, but that's just me. I personally admire Jobs's accomplishments although I despise Apple's philosophy.

Many people expect Apple to crumble after Steve Jobs leaves as CEO. I would very much prefer if Apple lost its current market standing on pure principle, not because of Jobs retiring. Given his arrogance, I'd rather see him beaten while he's strong.

he might be an asshat and an arrogant SOB, but his comments are integration and customers who want stuff to "just work" are spot on.
