Tried Beta 1 and it was really unusable. I switched to Beta2 nightly and current builds have been way better than Beta1 release.

Addons have still not been updated to support 4.0b1 or b2, especially Adblock Plus, there is an option to disable compatibility check though if you want to test compatibility of your addons. But the browser itself is a lot better than Beta1 or even the 1.1 release.

Do you know what Beta means? Did you file a bug report with Mozilla about your problem? Did you use the built-in feedback mechanism within the application?

Edit: Jedi beat me to it...

Did you know that you can delete a redundant post?

i don't really believe you, about it not working.
and if you want to enable your extensions on the newest beta, do this:
about:config
add > boolean
"extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0b" FALSE
ignore the fact that it's not listed
restart

Yes, but it was not entirely redundant, only we both wrote "Do you know what Beta means?" at the same time. My post had the "added value" of asking about bug report and feedback...

I have no intention to respond to those who dislike my post; readers don't enter this site to read arguments which are not technically related.

However, after reading some nice comments from contributors like Dancairo, I can't help to make a response.

I would not and cannot pretend as developer. I bought my N900 in June and then started looking for useful apps for it and for me. I am purely an enduser. I was then linked to this website without knowing this is a community for developers.

For those developers who don't like to see laymen like me to appear here. I am sorry but first thing is, there is no "sign" at the entrance to ask the visitor to leave if one has not certain level of programming knowledge.

Perhaps you will say, then just read and learn and keep quiet. I have thought about that, believe me. I then decide to keep posting because if I can enter freely here, many like me from all corners of the world may do. My post maybe non-sense to you as developers but could be helpful to those at my level to avoid making some mistakes.

Hmm. You installed beta software and now you have question that is on level of user who should not install Beta software.

Makes me wonder.

Browser through here and choose what ever you like:
http://moff.mozilla.com/

.edit
And btw. Before making clown of yourself(referring to thread title) please think next time couple of minutes that there might be other user using n900 and what they are experiencing with it. Meaning that if you find "bug" you could be only one having it or actually you might find out something that all the other users are experiencing also.

So my firefox alpha.Actually itīs on alpha level ROFL. Is loading pages as it should. Still itīs quite slow compared to Opera that pretty much is on different level on speed.

I think it was your alarmist thread title (not your actual question) that was the problem:
- All caps=>hey my problem is more important than everyone else's "lower-case" problems!
- "DON'T UPGRADE TO FIREFOX 4 BETA!!": How about acknowledging that YMMV? The fewer people that try the beta, the longer it'll take for bugs to be reported and fixed.
