Hi all. This is not entirely different. I am trying to flash mine using XP (emulated on MAC). The rootfs goes fine (command line w/o -R) and then I have the same message "suitable usb device not found waiting" but then after a couple of seconds it goes all the way.

Message says it is writing emmc and then it says emmc flash successful. The point is I am trying to do this to clear mem and try to fix my LED, which somehow are completely dead!!!

Two points to note: 1- is that after flashing emmc my phone does not reboot automatically (as it should) and I have to manually do it by unplugging USB cable, removing battery and pressing power button.

and 2- my LED are not working. Could this be that my flashing is faulty? Or simply that my LED is dead and needs replacing?

Thank you,

In that exempel I was just taken older one in use.

But no go.
You have either not read/executed the instructions properly, or your PC or N900 is faulty.

Download the fiasco and eMMC image to C:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5

Run flasher 3.5 from the start menu

Turn off N900

Hold u key and plug in USB cable, (keep u held down for a few seconds)

flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f

flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

Leave it to think.

Done

If it comes back and says suitable device not found, unplug the N900, unplug the USB from the PC

Plug USB into another port

Plug N900 in.

You will eventually find a port that always(ish) works.

Failing that, install Ubuntu or run it from a live CD/USB and try using that.
