Do you feel lucky... punk

Tis unfortunate if it's definitely no good for regular jogs (sheesh isn't that what this model is meant for?!)...
As it sounds like it's a better headset compared to the S9 (so long as my male head is thick enough)!
I wonder how it compares directly with the S10, might see if I can find some comparative reviews.
Well... I've been scared off from using the 505's on a heavy workout from both the reviews I've read, and from handling the device - I can see exactly were the mentioned faults are, and I only wish I bought a back-up pair in case these go belly-up.
Also... Nokia does deserve a bit of a knock for making a set of "active" BT headphones that have such design flaws. My guess is that they were aiming for the market of "I don't won't full-size cans on my head during my commute, but I don't want any wires dangling either". I use mine primarily for tooling around the house, like doing yardwork, housecleaning, etc. Nothing too strenuous.
As for the S9's... my wife is willing to try using them while running, but I think we're going to tape {} the USB flap shut to prevent any issues.
Again... as much as I love my 505's (perfect fit for me), I just don't think they'll do well for what you're looking to do. I guess they're for "active, but not too active" lifestyles. For myself, I was think of getting the Nokia BH-214 for working out - corded earbuds, but the remote is a clip that I can attach to my armband or shirt. I've never had sweat issues with corded 'buds.

Which 2 reviews are you speaking of, most grateful if you can you recall?

You're right, they certainly present them as headphones ideal for exercise, which is poor marketing & deceptive!

Good luck with that...
If they die you can always try to convince Motorola to upgrade you to the S10-HD!?

Nah I want everything built into the cans, I don't want a separate "dangly" item w/cords etc.
What a shame.....

Well it's looking like a toss-up between the S10-HD or BH-504 for me.
The MM 100 & PX 210 BT are only in the running if they really stand-out in some way.

If anyone's certain that something else knocks these remaining four "out of the park"...
Then please speak now or forever hold yee tongue!

As for sound quality to price ratio (mind you these were my first set of bluetooth headsets)

*bh-503 ($30 ebay)
*samsung hm3500 modus ($35 newegg)

I own both and I like both for different reasons. I'm a cook and I mainly listen to music at work. I did my research before buying each.

The bh-503 is VERY loud for a bluetooth headset and has deep bass. A little on the bulky side, which makes it uncomfortable for more than two albums at a time. Battery life is amazing!!! I forgot what it says in the specs, but throw that number out the window, I charge once per week, at usage of 3+hr a day.

But the hm3500 has been awesome as well. Much quieter and significantly less battery life (~5hr) than the bh503, but the comfortability is worth the trade off. This headset is mainly a standard bluetooth headset, but it comes with detachable stereo ear buds (which I don't use, cause i never liked the in ear rubberized kind)
but the real reason I like these was the ability to hear a2dp quality audio through the mono earpiece. Its brilliant. Now i can't live without it.

So when the batt runs out for this one , i just switch to the bh503

btw the bh503 is probably the way to go for jogging, big controls, and not too bad for 30min to hr of use on the ears.

i've been using bh-505's for the last 6 months with no issues whatsoever. I sweat a fair bit while jogging and have never noticed any cutting out or battery life issues. They also come with a decent selection of earbuds, so you should have no problem getting some tou find comfortable. Only discomfort i had was in the first week or so of wearing them when they seemed to be pushing in at my ears after extended use but that passed after they lost some of their "spring".

Thanks for the thoughts, tis appreciated.

Actually I already compared the 503 & 504/505 in-depth and the latter two came up trumps for me.
They're quite a bit newer & all the comparative analysis on the net seems to suggest they're superior.

The only area where the 503 may be better (than the 504) is it's form-factor, which may be more suitable for jogging.
But then again I have seen others complain that it's not very comfortable in that regard etc.

I've not yet found anyone talking about using the 504 for jogging, but it's style is similar to my PX-200's & they've been fine for years now.
I'm also not a big fan of that weird "behind the head" style headband....

But you have a point in that the 503 might have a slightly better $/perf+feature-set ratio.

Wow that's totally different to some of the stories I've read...
Hmm, now I'm think of throwing them back in the finalists list, damn you!

*update*
nah there's just too many nightmare stories, i think you've been lucky
Back off the list, maybe 503 back in...

Yeah seen that +ve appraisal of the 505, but I've also seen equally damning comments.
Thanks anyway.

For no more than $150 USD (not inc. post), that’s sturdy enough for regular jogging.

I’m trying to decide between…

-S10-HD
-BH-504

-MM 100
Too pricey in Aus, but seems possible to get for under $150 overseas, & there may be at least 1-2 retailers that ship reasonably?

-PX 210 BT (headphones)
Y.T.D if there's any offerings for $150 or less, looks unlikely.....

Any thoughts on which you’d pick & why, or perhaps you have other suggestions?
Not interested in adapters like the BH-214, want everything built into the headset/phone.
S10-HD - ooo, ooo, didnt know these were coming. I've had the S9-HD's for 6 months and use them when jogging regularly with no issues.

BH-504 - too bulky for jogging.

MM 100 - mmmm, look cool but those foam pads may eventually break and its hard to fine replacements. Also make you look like cauliflower is sticking out your ears.

PX 210 BT - too bulky for jogging.

S10-HD - ooo, ooo, might have to upgrade my S9's.

Poor local channel.

I am very happy with the Backbeat 903 (£55 if I remember). I bought it from amazon (no local channel here either, whatever you mean by that), the thing is often rained, sweated on and it just works. Missing a bit of bass but the sound is more than good enough for me, comfortable, cheap.

I've been happily using my PX 200 for many years and these look similar in design/build

I don't care how they make me look
Good point RE pads, then again I don't think that alone is strong enough to rule them out.
And knowing how tough the pads of my PX 200 have been, gives me reason to be confident.
Then again they're quite different designs....

The primary reason (which i haven't articulated in the OP yet) is that many sources indicate that this (like the 505) is not terribly "ruggedised".
I don't expect the s10 to be notably better or worse in most areas, but it is likely to be notably more "ruggedized".

I bought 2 just to be able to use all the time, while one is charging, other is in use. I keep changing from the computer to the n900, I can take calls, it will pause and skip music/playlists etc. I strap it on my neck and then, they work wonders.

I recommend this if you prefer to use the phones you like (like, I prefer to use the Philips she7750 (http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/d...&scy=gb&slg=en) - I have like 3 of them because they are not in production anymore, so I did a little stock - they will last for 8-12 months or HEAVY use - their bass are perfect-for my ears-)

My 2cents.

Thanks, I'm using an iTouch 4G as my portable exercise logger & DAP.
My N900 may be intermittently used for this purpose, but not very often.
Of the four models I've narrowed it down to, which would you pick & why?
Thanks again for your thoughts.

@temporal
What did you do with your post, did I scare you away?
Apologies if I offended!?
I'd still love to hear your thoughts on which of the four you like.
