So I called again, and they said Service Dept will call me back in 24-48 hours and I can't speak to someone now.

Weird.

I examined the black dot/line a bit further, it appears it might be dust or something underneath the display because my first instinct was to wipe it down with cloth, but that didnt work.

Not sure what the process is, will they give me a prepaid label to send it back, now im fearful of the phone having other issues when returned back to me.

any input.

thanks

"If you experience a problem with a Nokia Original Accessory, please return the item to your local dealer where you purchased the product."

This, from the accessories repair webpage, always indicated to me that sending an accessory off to PALCO was not an option. Did Nokia direct you to send it to PALCO?

Just my 2 cents - I sent my E75 to Palco in AL last year when I was told to by Nokia Customer Care over the phone. Basically, it wouldn't update to the latest firmware either OTA or PC Suite or Ovi Suite. Sent it in and it came back with EXACTLY the same problem. Had a ridiculous phone conversation with a woman who barely spoke any English, sent it in again, got a different E75 with different IMEI. But this one had a loose casing which eventually fell off. Sent that one back to them... eventually they replaced it with another E75, which is now gathering dust in a drawer.

All in all, I think Palco in Alabama are pretty, er, um, what's the word? Oh yes, SH*T

You said it man....Palco is one of the most unreliable, unprofessional outfits anyone would ever have to deal with. Nokia just changed to another outfit in Texas. They are worst. Nokia replaced my N900 and the replacement unit (from Palco) had screen problem during call, so I send it in (to new outfit in texas). They send it back saying (the replacemet unit) could not be fixed due to damage/missing parts. Phone was a nokia replacement and looked as new. So, I looked for damage/missing part, found out that they had lost the SIM holder. Turned on the phone and it kept shutting off. Inspected further and found that they had dissmantled the phone.

RECAP: Nokia replaced my N900. Phone malfunctions immediately. Nokia then rejects the repair of the replacement unit due to damage. Nokia loses sim holder and takes phone apart and does not put it back together properly, I get the same unit back and now it is completely dead.

This is what you call Nokia Experience.
