After long years of catching dust in a forgotten corner some former electronic junk may sell at higher price.

Also it seems that in some cases a mint condition N900 is now possible cheaper than the Nokia 7110 (the 1999 phone that should have had the N900's functionality back then)

The N900 has so many uses besides that of "phone". Just the TV out alone playing video encoded with X264 at native DVD resolution is worth the cost of keeping it. Add in the superb browser, tons of free, cool apps and games, and 32+ gigs of storage, and it's a no-brainer. Just keep it, you'll find plenty of uses for it in the future (unless you're a real hyper fanboy who switches phones every six months, in which case you wouldn't even be asking, so I assume you're not ;^)
