My only fear is that the developers will at some point leave us stranded on the beach, as some of my favorites have already. Like when Meego devices actually come out. I hope not.

Well said guys, N900 is the best mobile device to date in my opinion and sure many here will agree with me as well. Most of the phone out there are quickly become boring once you learned all the functions of the phone, but N900 is the opposite, once you get to know the phone and its endless capabilities due to openness of the OS, you get more interesting in it and eager to find out what you can do with it next.

I don't know if he was technically a developer, but he was certainly a key person here who certainly left, to the loss of the rest of us.

As far as I can tell, he seemed to be a developer to me. A quick search that brings his 105 self-started threads, shows that they (the later ones that came up first) are mostly application announcements and guides, and by sampling some, he starts out by talking about writing replacements, so yeah.

Key person indeed.
