You are a hero.

One question, does the application only send SMS received since activated, or can it send all existing SMS in Conversations?

Second option would be great as it would allow us to make a full backup of the received SMS.

Another question, could it be possible to define the subject of the emailed messages with tags such as "SMS from [CONTACT]" ?. This way it would be easy to create filters in GMail to arrange the messages.

I can't count all the great applications I have in my phone developed by you...

Only received SMS while it is activated

For this, you can use glogarchive.

Hi Nicolai, thanks for your response.

Unfortunately glogarchive is not exactly what I was looking for. If I could send all the SMS to my GMail account, I could filter them by sender/receiver and see all of them as threads.

Keep up the good work!

Please enlighten me.
Does SMS/IM forwarding cost any SMS charge?

Looks like another killer app for the N900

No. It's being sent over e-mail via whatever available data connection.

No SMS is used at all.

Answering would be cool. If you set the subject to something like "Incoming SMS ##<number>#" it would be easy to
- answer to a sms (some cleanup of the body before sending the sms would be cool)
- write a new sms using this method
However, care should be taken that, if incoming and outgoing e-mail-account are both set up in maemo's mailer, an incoming sms is not treated as an outgoing one.

Additionally, the e-mail receive intervall should autmatically be shortened while the application is active.

Great. So I don't have to worry about forwarding spam SMS

With this nice app my spare handset will be used for call-forward setting only - I'm crossing the border between Hong Kong and China
almost daily with my trusty N900.

Cheers!

Maybe I misunderstand...
It should only forward SMS received on the active SIM to Email.

Congratulations, another great utility.

I would argue that controls on the matter, besides the number, the contact's name if it is in the database.

Other data are date and time of SMS in the N900.

The power forward an SMS as email and otherwise, manually would be a great application.

Can't this work while your mobile phone is off? That would be awesome!
