Ballmer has his hand up Nokia's ***

Do you really think they will let an Open Source alternative get off the ground ?

Come on

I'm pretty sure there are some people working in Nokia, who don't give a damn about Microsoft and the new partnership. So hopefully this makes them to push even harder to really show what Nokia's MeeGo is all about.

Nokia is loosing market day by day and they need help and support. For this purpose they make alliance with Microsoft to compete the market. However Meego is on its early stage and a new experiment, at this stage Nokia does not want to take more future risk and loose their goodwill. May be Meego win consumers confidence in future but not sure in near future. However I am interested in Meego.

Meego would be the perfect tablet OS anyway. I love my N900 to death, but the little thing is literally *too damned powerful for it's size*!

I mean, the fact that I can compile and run C programs *on the phone* is awesome, but who wants to edit sourcecode on such a small screen? (Sure, I know, I can ssh in, but still).

Meego on a *tablet* though, would be beyond awesome.

Right now I have an iPad and an N900, and some days I wish the OS's were swapped on the two devices. iOS is way to stupid for a big thing like an iPad. Meego/Maemo is way to smart for something as small as a phone.

Or somesuch.

So I sincerely hope "the device" in question is a tablet.

Tho I also want a phone with more CPU

Not sure how old are these pics, but posted today anyway. Maybe Intel really is doing something, the UI looks good.

What's there not to believe? Elop said there will be one device this year. Will it be tablet or no is anybodys guess, but just read the whole statments what they gave and it's pretty clear that at best MeeGo will be "community project" or stopped totally by Nokia already next year.
