I don't understand, this problem for me, is solved by a reboot, so surely restarting a deamon or something should fix it?

Sorry what exactly is "restarting a deamon"?

Reviving an old thread...

A daemon is a running process in the background which provides a service.

This is still happening, i am running CSSU 20.2010.36-2m15 (latest)

For the record, I was in the exact same situation. Hopefully, doing what is advised here in the bugtracker has solved my problem.

To summarize: deleting ~/.mozilla/rtcom was the key here. \o/

Note: this will NOT erase the message database. Actually I quite don't know what it does delete, but I didn't see any loss yet.

Hope this will help someone else !

i assume you did install batterypatch by karam on your device right???

if you do then remove (purge) batterypatch then reboot....open conversation after reboot & see the result....if no more problem then batterypatch is the cause of it....
try installing latest version of batterypatch...the latest one seem have fixed conversation problem...
