I agree with all the comments above. I bet Nokia did not even realize the capabilities of this N900 when it was first produced. They created a MONSTER....all to the diligent work and the curiosity of folks here.

Thanks all..

I love my Nokia N900 and totally agree with all the above posts. The N900 has always been special and above all other devices, it just needed a solid and stable community and the rest will take care of itself. The CSSU have definitely added that special touch to this device and I just hope Nokia are looking on and thinking what a missed opportunity this was for them. Hell, they might suprise us still.... I have faith that we will see this Nokia N950...

Congrats on wrestling at least SOME control from the drunk drivers at the Maemo wheel. Now let's see what you can do with it.
Ever notice all those long, frustrating threads involving users with flashing problems? I'm thinking about a possible easy way around the whole issue, using Backupmenu. This could also solve the USB port issue, or I drank too much coffee this morning.

More progress is to come, at any rate.

Agreed. I'm almost certain that the flimsy port complaints would suddenly be far less of an issue if the only thing you're left to worry about is ONLY just charging the battery. That would seem to be far better than ruining your device's flash procedure because of the port. It's about time the Maemo people knew the power of having something like a "nandroid backup". I can't remember the last time I ever plugged any of my Androids into a laptop or desktop computer at all (usually use my AC or car USB ports to rapid-charge), much less to flash it with anything or to do full system-image backups/restores.

Makes one wonder why Nokia themselves didn't do this to start with--it's not even harder to implement. Leave it to the communities (Android and N900) to come up with the better tools.
