i had the same problem, i couldnt hear anything on incoming or outgoing calls, only if i switched to speaker phone. took it to my local nokia care centre, they just cleaned the earpiece (told me thar there was some dust in it). the sound was restored but not as clear as when phone was new.

But even if that were the case the N900 did not arrive till November in the UK and in the rest of the world it was not much earlier.

Nokia in australia only provide 12 months, not 24. I went in there today to attempt to procure spare parts, and asked them this question whilst I was there
