Battery life is easy 12-16 hours full use. I used it the whole day today with no need to recharge.

TitaniumRat - thanks! Please let me know if it works. Otherwise, Ill keep my eyes open for it.

I'm actually a frequent customer of geeks.com and have wondered how well their gps stuff works. This thread has helped answer some of those questions.

which OS are you running on your 770? HE or 2006? I'll grab it at lunch, if I make it home.

I got a BT-5 from Unitraq a couple weeks back and I"m very happy with it. I've not had any previous experience with GPS to compare it to but it seems to work very well with Mapper. It does occasionally fail to get a fix but a quick power cycle of the receiver solves that problem.

The only thing I dislike about the BT-5 is that the casing seems to not do well with heat. I left it sitting on the dashboard of my car one hot afternoon and it warped and shrunk.

I bought the Qstarz BT-Q816 Bluetooth GPS Receiver (32 ch, 25 hr, WAAS, Auto On/Off) from Amazon for $54.95. It works perfectly with Maemo Mapper. No problems at all.

I was about to buy this, and I downloaded the manual, too. Can you answer one question for me? Does it come with a charger for a regular household plug?

It seems like Amazon and other vendors mention the cigarette lighter (car) charger (which I don't care about) but not a regular plug-in charger. I would like to take this on a long overseas trip, and I won't have a car. If it has this type of charger, then I will buy it, and thanks for the recommendation! The manual does mention an "optional travel charger" and a "cigarette adapter" but I don't see direct mention or picture of an ordinary household charger.

Thanks!
Travis

I suppose I may as well resurrect this thread.

Computer Geeks is currently selling the Holux M-1200 for $37.99. Adding shipping and handling lessens the impressiveness of the deal, as is usually the case with Computer Geeks offers, but it's still a decent price, at least to within the continental U.S. Outside, I imagine the shipping prices become ridiculous.

As someone asked about chargers for another GPS (The BTQ816, which I don't know anything about), I thought I should mention that for the (very good) M1200 mentioned in the previous post it doesn't normally come with a wall charger - that's extra. However, mine came with a car charger (as does the one in the link, afaics). The M1200 is charged via a mini USB connector, so if I'm not charging it in a car I charge it from any PC using any (mini) USB cable. (The car charger that was included is of course one with a mini-usb plug, so it can be used for many other devices too.)
