I don't think I am breaking any NDAs, when I say that this is false.
If there are going to be incompatibilities, then they will not exist just for the sake of it. And we are definitely not talking about a "slightly repackaged Maemo5".
Just keep in mind that work on Maemo6 began long before Nokia and Intel agreed to cooperate with MeeGo. Clearly you cannot expect that this cooperation means "Nokia to drop everything and use Intel's version of MeeGo instead".
It is a process.

yeh but why nokia don't make a conference bout these questions?
I'm too confused and more people is like me.
is Meego maemo6 or not?
It doesnt sems to have much more sense becouse thinking about that Maemo6 is the day after of Maemo5. But meego it's a fusion between Nokia and Intel.. Or not? i understood that Meego has made mixing Moblin and Maemo and they called it Meego.. But maemo6? why some people continue to call it Maemo6?

Everything I've read (and this is much hearsay, considering Nokia never released information about the N9) leads me to believe that Maemo6 will be a slightly repackaged Maemo5, and definitely will not be Meego-compatible.
Now, Microsoft would certainly love it if Nokia were to market Maemo6 as a "kind of Meego", since that would destroy Meego's credibility and greatly damage Linux mindshare.
But I don't think it will ever happen, not even Microsoft is that evil.
[...]2. Keeping Nokia on track to deliver necessary software updates following launch of the product.[...]
[...]I keep feeling amazed every time somebody says "Harmattan is not
MeeGo" based on some architecture differences and then continues
"Harmattan is Maemo" based on... what? No Fremantle UX, no Hildon and no
GNOME-style API means a totally different story for most Maemo users and
developers. Leave alone all the middleware pieces that were rewritten
from Fremantle to Harmattan and happen to be the same or quite close to
MeeGo. Sorry, but I don't buy that. If you insist that Harmattan is not
MeeGo then you need to be consequent and reckon that Harmattan is not
Maemo either. And once you are there please ask yourself how useful was
for you and for the [LinuxMobile+Qt] community to stress the exceptions
instead of the commonalities.[...]

Wanting Maemo6 would be kinda stupid at this point -- Nokia has already fired all their Linux developers.
