hmm, today cutetube did something very similar to this when I minimized it. A bunch of windows were open for some reason and the effect was the same. A weird coincidence.

Glad you enjoy my site!

Although this is certainly a driver bug, it's easy to consistently trigger. I've bolded the line that causes it. Save the following into ~/.mplayer/config and play a video.

Code:
vo = xv:ck=set
colorkey = 0
fs = yes
ao = pulse
alang = en
framedrop = "1"
autoq = "100"
cache = "8192"
quiet = "1"
really-quiet = "1"

on colorkey what # should I put if I want to show the output to green parts of the screen?
