Sounds perfectly suited to the newly merged company, yes.

Even if they are wrong about it, this looks pretty serious, and I very much doubt that Wall Street view is uninformed.

If anyone of the companies planning to take over nokia. I would say microsoft is the best. Not becouse i like them, I don't. But I don't want to see android in nokia phones. I much rather have one smaller OS like win7. It's really boring if all vandors using google as software. More OSes is better for the consumer.

I have my doubts about some of the numbers posted there but it would be really cool if HTC would buy Nokia.
We would get 10 versions of one device and everyone would be happy

I dislike windows and would never use one, but I agree with you: competition is always a good thing.

I am not happy with Nokia about some decissions, like closing certain critical hardware bits ( ), but the last thing I would like to see is that Nokia is actually taken over by anybody.

or may be Nokia as a brand will not be promoted anymore, what is there in Nokia's stable that is a winner as of today?

May be someone just buys it to produce the mass market cheap but sturdy phones for making phone calls only or may be for emails and then eventually fold it when that market dries out.

I'm like the harbinger of death, the rider of the pale horse. Saw the responses to the N9, saw that 2012 prediction list... I've dropped all of my clothing and waiting on the rapture to begin with my "THE END IS NIGH" poster board steady in my left hand...

Oh. And it looks like Saab might not make it to next year. They can't pay their workers wages right now and are trying to secure funding... somehow, someway.

I'll be leaving sooner than later. The information and hilarity from this forum is engaging. And besides, I put my name in the hat for a N950. Let's see how that works out.

Well... think of it this way. At least Nokia was not part of the branding curse in Blade Runner. Pan-Am, RCA, Atari, Cuisinart and Bell. Perhaps they were using Nokia phones in Blade Runner and we just didn't notice it...

htc-nokia would sound better than microsoft-nokia, samsung-nokia or whatever.
And yea..HTC was once an OEM manufacturer. So they still dont mind supporting multiple OSes.
And their designs are rock solid and have a premium feel. HTC Nexus One, Desire, Desire HD anyone?
So well, HTC would carry on developing phones running Android, Windows Phone (like microsoft wants) and who knows, they might realise the potential in Harmattan (Maemo 6) and support that too.
Hence every one ends up happy!

I posted it elsewhere in another thread, but it fits the new Nokia+Microsoft merger for a new handset division (especially given Elop the Flop as the new CEO):
NOKIN

The new motto could even be a take-off on the Droid slogan, "Droid Does"...
NOKIN DO!

Oh God. It fits!!
